Sliding Doors

Sliding doors are widely used in Mediterranean villas to connect indoor living spaces with terraces and gardens. Large glazed panels allow natural light to enter the home while maintaining wide, unobstructed views. Modern systems combine smooth operation with improved thermal performance and weather sealing.

Unlike traditional hinged doors, sliding systems allow large openings to be created without requiring additional space for door movement. Panels move horizontally along track systems, making them particularly suitable for wide terrace openings where uninterrupted views and easy access to outdoor spaces are important.

In Mediterranean homes, sliding doors often form the main connection between interior living areas and exterior terraces. When fully opened they create a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor environments, supporting the style of open, terrace-focused living common in coastal villas.

Modern sliding door systems also incorporate improved glazing technologies designed to enhance insulation and reduce heat transfer. High-performance glass, thermal frames and weather seals help maintain interior comfort while still allowing large glazed openings.

When incorporated into villa design, sliding doors can improve natural light, ventilation and the overall relationship between interior spaces and the surrounding outdoor environment.
